Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Teaching the lab portion of an Introduction to Stage Craft class (2016-Current); Teach Stage Properties (2022 - Current), Teach independent studies on Welding, Wood Turning and Molding/Casting (as requested by students); lead the production build crew for a minimum of two productions per semester; manage the production budget with regard to scenery; prepare and maintain the Joan and Donald Schaeffer Black Box Theater;  Coordinate with John Cranford Adams Playhouse staff to produce the main stage musical, one black box production, and the high school Shakespeare tour; Consult with other Faculty and Staff on policy and improvements to the Drama and Dance Program. Supervise and mentor students in the construction and installation of all scenery. Supervise and mentor students in research, tracking, purchasing, and construction of props. Manage and maintain the Scene Shop. Teach independent studies in welding, prop construction, and carpentry. Supervise load-in, technical rehearsals, performances, and load-out to maintain a high standard safety and make sure fire code standards are observed. Participate in the construction of scenery, facilitate the purchasing and construction of props, install rigging, supervise and assist in the set up lighting and sound.  Maintain a professional work environment for students.

Achievements:

- Developed networks with local theaters to provide job opportunities for current students and alumni.

- Reconfigure and reorganize storage in the Joan and Donald Schaeffer Black Box Theater.

- Fabricated several durable items, including Riser to Mezzanine steps and a lobby projector stand.

- Guide decisions in and purchase new tools for the Scene Shop.

- Lead the discussion and construction of storage and work surfaces in the reconfiguration and reorganization of the Paint shop.

- Trained in First Aid/CPR/AED (2019, valid through 2021)

- Stop the Bleed workshop (April 2023)

- Working with colleagues to identify and address issues within the department with regard to racial identity and representation within the                                     department's season and classes.

- Introduced, developed, executed, and trained students for Live Virtual Performances of 5 Departmental Productions, Spring Semester of 2021                             by incorporating OBS (Open Broadcast Software) and Twitch.tv along with Zoom to give virtual performances production value and                                 therefore offer design opportunities to our students that otherwise would have been nearly impossible for our                                                                      Production Design students. 

- Introduced students to and trained students in MIG fabrication.

- Worked with faculty to improve conditions leading to a better work/life balance. 

- Implemented facility upgrades to the Scene Shop and Joan and Donald Schaeffer Black Box Theater. 

- Implemented a temporary digital Box Office for Hofstra  Drama and Dance Productions (Sept '20 - Current)

Design/Technology Supervisor, Adelphi University, Department of Theatre

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Teaching students carpentry, metalworking and rigging skills. Help to create and track all production and scene shop budgets as well as consult on all equipment purchases and upgrades. Act as Co-Technical Director on all Black Box productions. Act as  Draftsman and Assistant Technical Director on main stage performances. Supervise and mentor students in the construction and installation of all scenery. Supervise and mentor students in research, tracking, purchasing, and construction of props. Manage the scheduling of performance and rehearsal spaces. Manage and maintain the Scene Shop and Prop Storage areas. Teach independent studies in welding, prop construction, and carpentry. Supervise load-in, technical rehearsals, performances, and load-out to maintain a high standard safety and make sure fire code standards are observed. Participate in the construction of scenery, facilitate the purchasing and construction of props, install rigging, set up lighting and sound.  Maintain a professional work environment for students.

Achievements:

· Turned underutilized areas in the AUPAC into versatile storage spaces

· Designed and Installed a new rack system for Costume Storage in order to better utilize space and double capacity

· Reorganized 1200 sq ft Prop Storage room with functional storage and defined egress

· Turned prop storage area into prop construction area 

· Led the redevelopment of Department of Theater dressing rooms and green room into a versatile classroom space

· Developed and coordinated Safety procedures regarding prop weaponry, namely Firearms, with AU Public Safety

· Worked with TD to develop Production checklists in order to streamline student responsibilities on productions

· Currently developing a Prop Resource Handbook for students that focuses on resources in Nassau County and will expand into Suffolk and NYC. 

Professional Experience:

Master Carpenter, Triad Stage 

Greensboro, NC    December '06 - August '12

Primary Responsibilities included but were not limited to: Construction and installation of all scenic units for  all productions for each season. Maintaining a safe work environment in the scene shop and performance spaces. Delegating tasks from the TD to the build floor. Placing orders and purchasing materials. Packing and Transporting scenery and materials to and from the theater as well as for one summer performance in Boone, NC to participate in the Appalachian State University Summer Festival. Work with interns to develop their skills and working knowledge of the theater. Maintain a professional work environment.

Achievements:

·Developed a prop and back drop rental program that sent items nationwide and generated $5000 of additional revenue in the first year

·Relocated our outdated production facility into a  new 300,000sqft building

·Made connections to Lorillard Tobacco (based in Greensboro, NC) which led to a $10,000 donation to Triad Stage

Assistant Technical Director, Cortland Repertory Theater

Cortland, NY   May - August 2005 & 2006

Primary Responsibilities included but were not limited to: Construction and Installation of all scenic units for each production. Maintaining a safe work environment in the scene shop and performance space. Transporting props and scenery to the rehearsal space and theater. Coordinate building Materials, the pick up and delivery of those items. Coordinate, train, supervise and participate in load-In and load-out which included our Carpentry crew, Actors, Interns, and Volunteers from the CRT Guild.  Delegate tasks to the crew. Work with the TD to keep our production schedule. Maintain a professional work environment. 

Master Carpenter, Arundel Barn Playhouse

Arundel, ME   May - August 2004

Primary Responsibilities included but were not limited to: Construction, installation, and load-out of all scenic units. Maintain the Scene Shop. Coordinate building materials as well as the pick up and delivery of those items. Act as the Run Crew for assigned productions. Parking lot attendant for all other productions. Assist with Lighting and Sound load in as needed.
